I live in Illinois. It’s all, “Cubs vs Cards,” “Blues vs Hawks,” and “Soda vs Pop”.
The Invisible Borders That Define American Culture
One of the clearest regional differences in the U.S. can found by tracking the words people use to refer to soft drinks, which is in fact the map you saw at the top of this story. Pop or soda, or even Coke, these small linguistic differences are not as small as we might think. While “soda” commands the Northeast and West Coast (green) and “pop” is in between (black), “Coke” reigns in the south (turquoise). These small distinctions can often act as touchstones for larger cultural differences.

A few thoughts that hopefully will make you want to move yo’ bod, and/or view it in a more positive way…
• Take care of your body and be healthy all year, so there isn’t a “Bikini Season”.
• Find at least three parts of your body you love, and stop focusing so much on what you don’t like.
• At one point, you just need to stop trying to be as skinny as possible and make the best out of the body you’ve been blessed with.
• Usually, what exercise you hate doing, is the exercise you need to be doing the most.
• The moment I stopped focusing on trying to lose weight and switched to just trying to be healthy and balanced, is when things all started falling onto place.
• Constantly comparing yourself to other people is a one way street to being unhappy.
• Have a cheat day once a week, and enjoy it. I love me some pizza, beer, insanely large burritos, ice cream, nachos, margaritas, hot wings and…
